    HOLY HS1T! - I thought we had it bad in the UK but this is just mental! For starters when we lost our access to hand guns we got compensation (about a 3rd to a half of the actual value) but what I see here is USA fliers losing their drones altogether! How many people can afford >$5000 for a drone let alone $7600. All those people with legacy drones will be legally grounded and for why? Yes some idiots fly in an irresponsible manner and need action taking against them but this looks to be taking the pass-time / hobby / business and making it totally unreachable to many. Is this why its really happening? Remove the sales and remove the idiot fliers? Is it just home economics driving this?

  • @ThinkerOnTheBus
    @ThinkerOnTheBus 10 часов назад

    Also, regarding of flying drones in prohibited areas, I thought they had some system of invisible, electronic fences that would prevent any commercially available drone from entering into said prohibited areas.

    1:45 "If you are a commercial pilot, all drones, regardless of weight, must comply." The structure of that statement carries a high potential for it to be misinterpreted. Obviously, if taken literally, it makes no logical sense, and hence, it is not exactly what the narrator had intended to communicate. However, ignoring the semantics of the statement, there is a more subtle potential issue with what the narrator had wanted to express, and what his words actually state. In order to gain comprehension of what the narrator is communicating to us, we must ignore the literal meaning of the sentence as it is constructed because obviously not all drones need to be in compliance based solely on the fact that one is a commercial pilot of drones. A safe assumption to make would be to interpret it as not "all drones", but instead "all drones flown by said commercial pilot" because the child down the street from the commercial drone pilot does not have to comply with registration if his drone weighs 200 grams. According to what the statement communicates, the child would have to register his drone, but that is not my issue here, for I believe most of us can easily determine that the literal translation of the narrator's statement is not what was meant. (The majority of English speakers are semantically oblivious, and therefore they will never reach the literal meaning of most communications they create, or absorb, and being that most people communicate in a similar fashion, such a nonspecific construction of generalities expressed loosely will tend to suffice most of the time.) The literal translation won't even be considered by most people, or if they have the lingual awareness to consider such a translation, they will likely reach the conclusion that the narrator is not speaking in any strict, literal sense, and therefore, they will interpret the narrator's words loosely, and not literally. Yet, even without a literal translation, there is something about the statement that bothers me because I can not determine from the narrator's words how to interpret them as applied to a commercial drone pilot. Now, a commercial drone pilot must register their drones with the F.A.A., even the ones that weigh under the 250 grams limit, the limit where noncommercial drone pilots are not required by law to register their drone when it weighs under said limit. That much is understandable, but what about the commercial drone pilot's leisurely flying time? What about their drones that weigh less than 250 grams, and which they never utilize for commercial purposes? Is the commercial drone pilot required to register their drones weighing less than 250 grams, and which are never piloted for commercial use, and only for personal, recreation? Or does it not matter, and because the commercial drone pilot has a license, are they then required by law to register every one of their drones regardless of weight, and type of usage? If a commercial drone pilot owns the same type of drone as Timmy, the neighborhood brat down the street, and it weighs under 250 grams, and neither of their drones are being flown in any commercial capacity whatsoever, then what would be the logic behind making the commercial drone pilot register their drone, but Timmy is not required to register, especially when Timmy is more likely to cause problems with his drone than the highly skilled, and knowledgeable commercial drone pilot with a license? How would such a scenario be justified? Basically, I can understand that a commercial drone pilot being required by law to register all of their drones that are used commercially, but I can not form any logical basis for a commercial drone pilot to register their drones that are only used for personal, and noncommercial, purposes when any noncommercial drone pilot would not be required to register the same drone.

    I have the same comments as many others here. I can set up my livestream at home when on WIFI and actually testing the flight while seeing the video on youtube. I believe you need to set up the video live stream each time. However, you RTMP Address with secret passcode is permanent once you setup. My guess is I have to establish the video on YT first, then livestream from the drone just as I do at home.

    I did all of what you said in the past. The issue I’m having is, the FAA Drone Zone site where you register all drones does not allow me to enter any of the serial numbers to my drones. FAA has not contacted me on this issue. I’m almost inclined to go to or call the very local FAA office where I live to see if they can resolve the issue. Any suggestions that you may have, lay it on me. It’s a bit frustrating to have an account with Drone Zone and not have all the information completed.

      If you’re a recreational flyer you don’t have to register the drones, it’s an FAA number assigned to you the operator. But you still have to display that number on all your drones, and have it available with you if someone asks for it.

    As long as you have a Part 107 certificate, don’t fly it dangerously or recklessly, out of your visual sight, directly over a person (or people), directly over a moving vehicle of any type, in controlled airspace without authorization, in parks or city areas that are no-fly or permit-required zones, or at night without an anti-collision strobe visible from 3 miles away. A wedding is not recreational.

      Are you "furthering commerce"? This includes having your youtube channel APPLY for monetization. Your question is structured as "I own X, is that a problem?" Which doesn't make sense. What you're likely asking is if you're asking about using your drone for ag uses - which is furthering commerce, so yes you'd need a 107. (I got mine recently) If you're flying purely for fun in the US, then you'd need a TRUST certificate. I got mine from Pilot Institute. Depending on what you're doing with those crops, you might need further licenses! Yes it gets complicated, but that's business!

    • @RetreadPhoto
      @RetreadPhoto 4 дня назад

      Commerce has nothing to do with it. It’s either “100% recreational” or it’s Part 107. Taking free pics for your neighbor or church is not furthering commerce, but is Part 107, because it is not purely recreational. This is a VERY COMMON MISCONCEPTION, which shouln’t be perpetuated.

    If American politicians are going to ban CCP drones, then do it for the the right reasons and follow suit with computers, televisions, and everything else with a CCP micro chip. Why ban a product made on foreign soil only to reproduce it by the same company on a different foreign soil and upload a software / firmware on US soil and tell everyone it’s not the same thing. Oh, it’s a U.S. “based” company. It’s a great product. Randall Warren is genius in the drone marketing business. This slight of hand back door remanufacturing to bypass a policy is ridiculous.

    So the former DJI Enterprise manager made a deal with DJI to produce a green DJI drone in Malasia, not China. The green DJI Mavic 3 is then shipped to the US where the former DJI Enterprise manager uploads firmware and ups the price. Nope, I don’t see any Chinese technology here. What a bunch of BS. How many politicians are getting in on the Anzu Robotics stock.

    I've been a commercial architectural photographer for 20 years and added a drone to my toolbox a few years ago. One huge setback I've seen in my industry is that when I started, companies needed to hire a professional for professional imagery. Now, cameras (and now phones) are so good that many architects, realtors, etc. no longer hire professionals rather, they use their own equipment and staff for imagery. Since I've been looking into drone mapping as another way to expand my Part 107 skillset, I'm seeing jobs posted that are industry specific such as these jobs are not being outsourced to drone professionals rather, they are in-house. For example, law enforcement, agriculture, surveying and industrial use of drone mapping is typically performed by those in that field rather than drone operators.
